ARGENTINE SOFTWARE EXPORTS BREAK RECORDS AND REACH US$ 1,7 BILLION

After 5 years the software and the Argentine computer services returned to beat their own record: in 2017, the industry exceeded the best figure that had registered in 2012, when that value was located at us$ 1,533 million. There was also a sales growth of 28.3% in pesos for us$ 2,237 million in the domestic market, of the us$ 3,837 million of the entire market.

It also had its correlate in employment increase, which stood at 3.5%. A large number of new jobs were created reaching 107,100 software professionals between registered and unregistered. The profile most in demand in 2017 was that of application developer, which presented difficulties of 80% of companies in the senior category to cover it.

In 2017 it was a great year of recovery for the software industry with a historic record in exports composed of 56.2% to North America (United States, Canada and Mexico), 32.2% to Latin America and Central America and 11.6% to the rest of the countries. The industry is made up of more than 800 companies. Of that total, some 400 are adhered to the law of promotion of software that was launched in 2005 to promote the development of the sector, especially in regard to exports.
