ARGENTINA: THE TOURISM INDUSTRY COMMITTED US$ 2 B INVESTMENTS AND 300.000 JOBS

President Mauricio Macri participated at the inauguration of the 18th edition of the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC), the great event of the global tourism industry. He received an award from the organism to promote the growth of the sector. But before they delivered a surely more attractive announcement of the investments for almost us$ 2 billions, a figure that will help add 300.000 jobs to the 1.8 million already generated by the sector over the course of a decade.

It was announced to Macri representatives of global companies such as Amadeus, Deloitte, Hertz International, Hilton, Hotelbeds, Ingle International, Marriott International, Silversea, Virtuoso, Airbnb, American Express, Emirates, Mastercard, Melia, United Airlines, Globalia [the owner of Air Europa and Be Live] hotels, Explora [Chilean hotel chain], Huttopia [high-end camping] and American Airlines, among others.

President Macri took the opportunity to "sell" the country's tourism. "It's a matter of looking around to realize that this is a privileged land, with the waterfalls, the valleys and gorges of the north, the wineries of Cuyo, the calm Patagonian beaches and the glaciers," he continued, before declaring himself proud of Argentine hospitality: "We carry it in our blood". That is why he explained that the government is giving the sector "an impulse like never before, with the revolution of the airplanes, the modernization of 19 airports, new routes, and it is giving results." The tourism does not stop growing and everyone sees Argentina as an attractive destination, "he said.
