CARGILL, COFCO, BUNGE, ADM AND LDC ADDED 57% OF ARGENTINE AGRICULTURAL EXPORTS

From January to June 2018, exports of the agricultural complex from the port terminals keep the same protagonists in the first places as a year ago: Cargill, Cofco and Bunge. These exports reached some 39.66 million tons, which meant a retraction of 2.6% compared to the same period of 2017. According to the data provided by the Zeni consultancy, 56.7% of sales were concentrated in 5 firms: the first 3 mentioned, plus Archer Daniel Midland (ADM) and Louis Dreyfus Company (LDC).

In total, Cargill concentrated 13.7% of exports, with 5.41 million tons, followed by Cofco, which had a 12.5% share (some 4.95 million tons). Bunge, on the other hand, reached 11.2% (4.44 million), while ADM and LDC, 10.3% and 9% respectively.

Further back were others such as Aceitera General Deheza (AGD), Vicentin, Oleaginosa Moreno (Glencore), Asociación Cooperativas Argentinas, Molinos CaƱuelas and Molinos Agro. In the grain sector, China Cofco led with 17.8% of the total, followed by ADM with 16.5%. Meanwhile, Vicentin was the main one in Oils with 17.3% of the total.
