THE EU ALLOWS ARGENTINA TO EXPORT 2,000 PRODUCTS WITHOUT TARIFFS

  • The good news, in the midst of the negotiations of a free trade agreement with Mercosur, includes a list of primary products that Argentina is able to provide and other industrialized products that it can manufacture or that are already produced in different provinces of the country. Sweet cherries, products made with cranberries, garlic, goat meat, buffalo and sheep, among others, have been benefited by the European decision.

The report made by the Argentine diplomatic representation before the European Union, also reported the following products benefited by the tariff eliminations: organic chemicals, goods manufactured by the chemical industry, plastic and manufactures, machines, appliances, electrical equipment and related parties.

Products destined for ships and drilling or exploration platforms, products for aircraft such as turbojets, air navigation instruments -except compasses- and landing gear and its parts have also benefited.

There are 28 other fishery products benefited and among agricultural and industrial goods includes raw tobacco, sorghum grains, plastics, refractory bricks, glass cloth, ferrochrome, aluminum bars, magnesium powder, alternating current motors, assembly for GPS systems, lighting equipment, bicycle parts and optical instruments and apparatus.
