(ICE) - ROMA, 08 OTT -

INDEC released the figures for Argentine beef exports in August. They add up to almost 80 thousand tons, 26% more than in July and 50% more in the interannual comparison. In addition, it is very likely that no month of 2005 or 1978 or 1979, years that marked the last annual maximums, has exceeded that level, so you have to go back to the 60's to find higher levels.

In August, the 9.000 tons of product weight exported in excess of July are explained by almost 6.000 for China, 1.500 for the EU, 700 for Israel and 200 for Brazil. In relation to August 2018, the 18.000 tons of growth are due to 19.000 more for China, 1.300 more for Israel and 1.000 for Europe. Partially compensate for this increase in falls to Russia, of 3.700 tons, and to Chile (800 tons). The average value of August was USD 5.460 per ton shipped, 9% higher than a year ago.

With the August data, the total of the last 12 months exceeded 700.000 tons, a figure not seen since 2005-2006. The internal conditions of the country and those of the international market are allowing this growth to continue abroad. The annualized projection of the last four-month period determines more than 830 thousand tons, which would be a record in more than half a century.
